Yvette Spowers

Yvette Spowers was born in Barbados, West Indies, and has lived in many countries working as a ceramic artist.  

Yvette came to ceramics relatively late in life, although the desire to work with clay was with her since teenage years.  She is largely self-taught, having started her journey at the studio of William Attaway whilst living in Venice, California.   

She has held three solo shows whilst living in Sri Lanka.  

Three group shows and one solo show in Ibiza, Spain

She has lived and worked in Ibiza, Spain for the last 13 years

My work is informed by nature, the shapes, colours, curves, twists and turns, and most of all, by the simplicity.  The pieces in the show Sublime Mediteranée are inspired by the variety of blues found in the Sea, the corals, rocks and shells.
